Brother Hubbard Co-Owner Launches Food Delivery Service

A new online healthy food delivery service called 'Piply' has been launched, with one its founders being Garrett Fitzgerald of Dublin's Brother Hubbard restaurant.

Users can order meals planned by Piply's dieticians which are cooked to order by a team of chefs from 5pm to 9:30pm. The on-demand service uses geo-location to deliver the meals and aims to get them to customers within an hour. Currently it has a limited service range, delivering only to the Dublin 2, 6 and 8 areas.

Speaking to about the new service, Alexander Gartland, its co-founder and managing director said: "The only alternative is absolute garbage from a traditional takeaway or using a restaurant delivery service. Restaurant food is generally rich and not designed to travel."

Although Piply has only been opened for around a month, Gartland hasn't ruled out seeking further investment, saying: "I find the thought of bootstrapping desirable but depending on the circumstances, of course, investment might be required."

Meals on offer include red lentil soup, slow-cooked lamb tagine, chicken and coconut laksa, with prices ranging from €11.95 to €13.95 for a main course and a delivery charge of €2.50.
