Copper Face Jacks Celebrates 20 Years

One of Ireland's most well-known nightclubs Copper Face Jacks is celebrating its 20th year in business this week with an invite-only event.

The iconic Harcourt Street spot will host Damien Dempsey who is performing a live set on the night, followed by a host of resident DJs. Prior to this, Newstalk's Off the Ball will be broadcasting a special live show on the premises.

The Dublin institution is known for its strong ties with the GAA community and as the go-to destination for off-duty Gardaí and nurses. The nightclub, which is infamous for its long queues and singles culture, is offering a complimentary drink and free entry to all revellers who arrive before midnight.

Carl Andreucetti, marketing & events manager said of the occasion: "Since opening back in 1996, we have grown to become the most popular nightclub in Ireland. We have always traded on word of mouth and as a result, we’ve consistently drawn a loyal following of patrons over the years, who we hope will continue to come through our doors in the coming years."

Irish soccer legends Brian Kerr and Ian Harte; rugby star Gordon D'Arcy and GAA heroes; Darragh Ó Sé, Anthony Moyles, David Brady and Kieran McGeeney will join the presenters for the Off the Ball broadcast on the night. The event starts at 6pm.

Copper Face Jacks operates seven nights a week and contains seven bars, two covered beer gardens and a premium level lounge. The company that operates the nightclub announced that it made a pre-tax profit of €4.94 million, or €95,000 per week, in the 12 months to the end of January 2015. It is owned by former Garda Cathal Jackson.
