Dalata Eyes Clayton Hotel Expansion As 'Landmark' Business Campus Planned Near Dublin Airport

The Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport could be set for a major boost with the news this morning (23 September) that developer Michael Howard is planning to build a €250 million landmark international business campus at a site near Dublin Airport.

The developer's company, Genvest, plans to construct 13 grade A office blocks on a massive site beside the M50, where the campus could eventually see up to 8,500 people employed there, reports the Irish Independent.

The site, located on a key M1-M50 interchange close to the airport, is adjacent to the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport, which is owned by hotel group Dalata and has 467 bedrooms.

It's reported that Genvest plans is to integrate the hotel "visually and functionally" into the huge new business campus.

Planning permission had been sought by the Clayton Hotel's previous owners, the Moran and Bewley's Group, to add 367 bedrooms, as well as a conference centre, however Dalata has scaled back those plans and is now looking add 140 more bedrooms instead.
