Dromoland Castle On Course For Record Revenues

The five-star Dromoland Castle Hotel in Co. Clare is reported to be on course for a bumper year with revenues expected to exceed €20 million for the first time.

The operating company for the hotel, Dromoland Castle Holdings Ltd, has filed accounts that show a four-fold increase in pre-tax profits for 2015 to €1.29m, with revenues revenues increased 13% to €19.55m, according to the Irish Examiner.

While last year proved lucrative for Dromoland Castle, general manager Mark Nolan said that he expects revenues to further improve in 2016.

"We are holding our breath to see if we can do it, but we are busier than last year. I didn’t think we would beat last year which was a really strong but this year is beginning to look stronger,” said Nolan, adding that, overall, "we are very happy with the results from last year", while warning that "the caveat is what will Brexit do, and will people get nervous about travelling? But we are hopeful. We are positive and the product is looking great".

Dromoland Castle Hotel has just completed the first part of a four-phase €12m developmental plan.
