Fake Craft Beer Sold In Number Of Irish Pubs, Says Heineken

It is being reported that Heineken Ireland has confirmed that some of its "low-volume high-quality draught products" have been mislabeled and sold as craft beers in a number of pubs around Ireland. reports that the Irish arm of Heineken has confirmed that a small number of pubs have sold its products under local craft beet names, but added that the practice has now been halted.

"We apologise to our valued consumers and customers," said a statement from Heineken Ireland. "This should not have happened. Heineken Ireland has appointed an external firm to investigate and help us understand how this occurred and to prevent it happening again."

Heineken Ireland went on to add that it cannot make any further comment at this stage of the process.

According to, the external investigation is being carried out by the financial services advisory firm, Grant Thornton, and started a number of weeks ago.
