Good Year For Killarney Hotel Group As Revenue Greatly Increases

Killarney Hotels Limited, which operates two five-star hotels and a four-star hotel in Co Kerry, has seen its losses decrease and its revenue increase by 26 per cent last year according to newly filed accounts.

The group, which operates Dunloe Castle Hotel, The Europe Hotel & Resort and Hotel Ard na Sidhe, reported a pre-tax loss of €4.9 million in 2015, down from €5 million the previous year, as well as revenue growing from €13.4 million to €17 million, reports the Irish Times. The accounts also show that Killarney Hotels Limited owed its Swiss parent company, Liebherr Hotels, €44 million at the end of last year.

"The industry is going through a period of change. It is more and more consumer-led and digital technologies are shifting the balance towards the consumer. Killarney Hotels have to continue to evolve in order to compete in a digital world of increasingly demanding international guests," stated the company directors.

In Cork, accounts filed for Inchydoney Island and Lodge Spa Limited show that the 4-star hotel has seen its accumulated losses increase from €1.01 million in 2014 to €1.15 million for 2015. The hotel saw its employee numbers increase from 132 to 150 with related costs totaling €2.5 million.
