Musgrave MarketPlace Announces €2.2m Upgrade of Dublin Store

Foodservice suppler Musgrave MarketPlace has announced it will put €2.2 million into upgrading its store in Ballymun, Dublin.

The upgrade of its Ballymun store will result in a 20 per cent increase in the size of the cash and carry area, as well as new speciality areas and new technology to enhance the visitor experience in-store.

The revamped store will have a selling space of 75,000 square feet and Musgrave Marketplace will add three new roles to its current staff of 65 in the fresh food, liquor and equipment areas.

Among the new additions will be:

• Specialist meat, cheese, fish and fruit & vegetable counters
• A culinary theatre to showcase Musgrave MarketPlace offerings for customers, along with classes aimed at creating menu solutions
• Hundreds of new products will also be available in the upgraded store as well as online access to the full Musgrave MarketPlace range

Noel Keeley, managing director of Musgrave Wholesale Partners said; “The business of food and drink is constantly evolving and it’s important that we continue to innovate and respond to our customers’ needs.

"This significant investment will allow us to deliver the cash and carry of the future. As well as providing our customers with the products they want, we will also be able to add value through our experts on hand in-store.”

The revamped Musgrave MarketPlace Ballymun will officially open in October 2016 but will operate as normal throughout the upgrade.
