New 135-Seater Restaurant Set For Landmark Rathmines Building in Dublin

A new restaurant has been earmarked for the former Lenehans hardware store in Rathmines, Dublin 6, which is expected to seat 135 diners.

Savills is quoting a rent of €150,000 for the landmark building, which has traded as Lenehans for more than 70 years, reports The Irish Times.

Planning permission has been granted for the entire property to be converted for use as a restaurant, with large-scale Irish and UK family restaurant operators likely to be attracted to the premises, which provides an open-plan ground-floor space of 286sq m (3,078sq ft); a first floor of 115sq m (1,237 sq ft) and a rear yard of 56sq m (602sq ft).

Fallon & Byrne plans to open a 10,000sq ft food hall  in the Swan Shopping Centre in Rathmines, while Starbucks recently opened its second restaurant in busy capital city suburb.
