New Restaurant and Bar Openings Keep Coming In Dublin And Galway

Dublin and Galway welcomed a variety of different openings in recent weeks and more to come in the coming weeks , from bars to gastropubs to fine dining restaurants.

The Stone Leaf, a new multi-level venue which will have a late-bar with outdoor terrace, nightclub, cafe, and fine dining restaurant opened recently on Dublin's Leeson Street. The restaurant, called Kilfeathers, will be on the venue's top level and will see head chef Michael Hunter, formerly of l'Ecrivain, serve dishes such as organic salmon mousse with roe, cucumber and apple relish, as well as classic dishes like sherry trifle with white chocolate espuma.

A new gastropub called Brickyard has opened in Dundrum above Balally Luas stop. It will open for lunch from 12 to 3pm, will serve craft beer from the likes of Lagunitas, Stone Brewing and Guinness's Open Gate Brewery, as well as cocktails such as espresso martini's and whiskey sours. Food options include a variety of burgers, arancini, spicy chicken wings, and triple-cooked chips with truffle and parmesan.

Meanwhile, out west in Galway a new bar and restaurant will open its doors next month called Brownes, specialising in contemporary Irish cuisine. Dishes will consist of smaller sharing plates such as beef cheek with potato mousse and crispy marrow, lamb shoulder with aubergine and miso, as well as chocolate parfait with cherry sorbet and yogurt. The front part of the bar, which was originally a grocery store, will serve craft beer and wine to go along with a snacks menu that includes dishes such as salt cod croquettes.

Dulse Restaurant and Pantry, run by chef-patron David O'Donnell, is to open in Barna, Galway today (23 September). O'Donnell, who has worked at the likes of Knockranny House Hotel, the Heritage at Killenard and Mount Juliet House Hotel, will open the restaurant from Wednesday to Sunday night, however there will also be a deli and cafe  in the future, reports the Advertiser.ie. Dinner options include smoked pigeon with pickled mushrooms and black pudding as well as dessert options of courgette with cardamom, chocolate brownie and condensed milk crisp.
