€7.77 Spent On Average While Eating Out

Irish and English consumers spend €7.77 while eating out according to Bord Bia's recently published survey on The Lunchtime Occasion in Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.

The report questioned 1000 consumers from both the UK and Ireland. It revealed that lunch is typically eaten between 12 pm and 2pm. Sandwiches are the most popular meal. Favorite fillings in both nations are ham (39%), salads (30%), cheese (29%) and chicken (20%).

Roast dinner is the lunchtime favourite at weekends.

The survey reports that consumers find the 'expense' and the 'speed of service' the most frustrating factors while eating out.

The most sought after service according to the survey is value for money (35%), convenient location (32%) and quality food (31%).
