Aer Lingus To Launch Two New Transatlantic Routes Next Year

Aer Lingus chief executive Stephen Kavanagh has revealed that the airline is planning to launch two new transatlantic routes next year, with sources suggesting that Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and Montreal in Canada are among the destinations currently under consideration.

According to The Irish Times, Kavanagh stated that Aer Lingus hopes to officially confirm the destinations of the two new routes within the next two to three weeks. He added that the airline is likely to start operating both services in July of 2019 and seats will go on sale following the routes' official announcement.

Fleet Expansion

Aer Lingus also plans to begin adding 12 new Airbus A321 long range craft to its fleet next year. These craft are cheaper to run than traditional long-haul planes and will allow Aer Lingus to launch services to destinations that may not have been viable previously.
