Air Canada Resumes Flights Between Dublin And Toronto

Air Canada has resumed passenger flights between Dublin and Toronto.

The airline's Dublin-Toronto service will initially operate three times weekly, with flights departing Dublin for Toronto on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and departing Toronto for Dublin on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, as reported by The Irish Times.

Non-Essential Travel Not Advised

Despite many air services resuming, the Irish government is advising against non-essential travel due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. As reported by The Irish Independent, health minister Stephen Donnelly said that public health officials are "very worried about the potential for a second surge really driven by a big upswing in foreign travel", and that, at present, 17% of new coronavirus cases in Ireland are being caused by foreign travel.

The government is currently in the process of putting together a "green list" of destinations to which it believes it is safe to travel.
