Australian winemakers are curious by nature, perfecting old concepts and playing with new ideas to create something extraordinary. No technique goes untested and no convention goes unchallenged. In fact, you could say they have a proud tradition of starting new traditions.
Australia Trade Tasting, Dublin
Find out what makes Aussie wine so exciting at the Australia Trade Tasting in Dublin. Taking place at The Mansion House, there will be over 250 wines from 40 wineries across Australia. This is your chance to meet the people behind the wines, hear their stories and try a diverse range of Australian wine. Guests can get up-to-date with the category, taste new releases, new styles and alternative varieties.
Some of the producers may be familiar names like De Bortoli, d’Arenberg and Peter Lehmann, while others will be new discoveries. Pouring their wines at the event for the first time is Patritti. Third generation family member James Mungall and colleague Ben Heide craft traditional and alternative varietal wines from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. Other producers new to the event are Kirrihill Wines, with their premium cool climate styles from the Clare Valley, and Silkman Wines, showcasing the unique characteristics of both the Hunter Valley and individual vineyards.
The tasting is enhanced by a masterclass on the McLaren Vale and a free-pour focus area with the theme Women in Wine. Following the announcement of the Australian Women in Wine Award winners, the focus area features a diverse line-up from winemaking legends as well as emerging stars.
