Belfast's Hamilton Dock Hotel Site Hits The Market

Belfast's Hamilton Dock Hotel development site has been put up for sale on the open market. As reported by insidermedia.com, planning was approved in 2010 for a 244 bedroom hotel on the site, which is located within the city's Titanic Quarter Phase Two zone.

According to the Titanic Quarter's commercial director, James Eyre, the sale is a "significant opportunity for hotel developers and operators."

Eyre went on to assert that the Titanic Quarter "has evolved into a world-class tourism destination, an international exhibition and conferencing location, a hub of local, national and international businesses, an educational and media campus, and a residential community."

Eyre also noted that "Tourism is a key driver of Belfast's and Northern Ireland's economy" and "The Hamilton Dock site is perfectly positioned within a key tourism quarter of Belfast city centre."

Director of CBRE David Wright added that "Belfast is experiencing a significant increase in hotel development interest, fuelled by the current under supply of hotel rooms as well as increased leisure tourism and corporate activity" and "The Hamilton Dock Hotel site provides a prime development opportunity."
