Bewley’s Acquires Bolling Coffee In UK Expansion

Bewley’s has acquired the UK coffee roaster Bolling Coffee based at Meltham, near Huddersfield in Yorkshire.

The move comes as Bewley’s second acquisition in 18 months and follows the purchase of London-based Darlington’s Coffee in 2011.

In operation since 1979, Bolling provides both bespoke coffees and branded options under the popular Grumpy Mule brand.

The company employs 42 people and has a modern 1,200 tonne coffee roasting facility, supplying over 600 customers in 1,500 outlets.

Commenting on the acquisition, Bewley’s managing director, Jim Corbett said: “Bolling brings us UK nationwide sales and service capability, a UK roasting facility and considerable further expertise for our customers and the wider UK coffee market.  Bewley’s will support Bolling’s further growth with significant ongoing investment in production capability, sales and marketing.”
