Brittany Ferries To Launch New Route From Ireland To Spain
Brittany Ferries is set to launch the first ever direct ferry link between Ireland and Spain, with two services weekly from Cork to Santander scheduled to start from the end of April, 2018.
While journey times and lead-in prices haven't yet been revealed, a new ship dubbed the Connemara and based on the company's économie model will operate on the route, offering customers "a comfortable, no-frills service with a distinctly Spanish theme", reports The Irish Independent.
The Connemara will be able to transport approximately 500 passengers and 195 cars, and will feature cabins capable of facilitating up to four people, a small shop, café-bar and passenger lounges.
Commenting on the new service, general manager for Brittany Ferries Ireland Hugh Bruton said, "This is a significant move for Brittany Ferries, offering haulage companies a direct route to Spain and passengers a far greater range of holiday options from Cork."
Tickets for the service are expected to be available for purchase by the end of January.
