Café En Seine Decor To Be Put Up For Auction In Late June

The contents of Café en Seine of Dawson Street in Dublin are being put up for auction later this month at the Heritage Hotel of Killenard, Co. Laois.

As reported by The Sunday Business Post, Liam O'Dwyer, who ran the café bar and nightclub in partnership with his brother Des under their Capital Holdings company, is thought to have spent at least €3 million on the venue's decor, having journeyed across Europe to acquire a collection of early twentieth century busts and statues, Art Nouveau-style stained glass panels, ornate gilt-wood mirrors and consoles, marble-topped side tables, and marble fireplaces to give the venue the ornate and elegant look for which it is famous.

Currently undergoing a new €3 million refurbishment which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018, Café en Seine's previous treasures and memorabilia will be auctioned off by Niall Mullen and Victor Mee Auctioneers over two days at The Heritage Hotel on Tuesday June 19 and Wednesday June 20, with viewings of the available lots being offered from 10am-6pm between Thursday June 14 and Monday June 18.
