Callebaut’s Make It Special Competition Open; Win A Trip To Belgium

Chefs, chocolatiers and pâtissiers interested in winning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Belgium have until midnight on 19 March to enter Callebaut’s Make It Special Competition.

Six winners will travel to Brussels and complete a tour of the Callebaut factory to understand how the Belgian chocolate is made, take part in a workshop at Callebaut’s flagship academy, and visit some of the most popular restaurants, patisseries and chocolate shops on a tour of Brussels.

To enter, chefs simply need to share details of how they help customers celebrate a special occasion – for example a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or Easter – on Callebaut’s chocolate hub www.fortheloveofchoc.com. With two age categories – 18-21 year olds and 22 years or over – it’s a competition open to all professionals regardless of experience.

Robert Harrison, sales director at Gourmet-Northern Europe, Callebaut, commented: “Special occasions provide a key profit opportunity – 74 per cent of diners are willing to spend more when out celebrating - so it’s essential chefs and operators make the most of them.

“We know there are incredible dishes out there which strive to make customers feel special and help them celebrate - whether they’re for seasonal or more personal occasions – and many operators work hard to take them to the next level. We’re excited to be able to reward caterers for their efforts and return the favour by making them feel special with this exclusive trip - but the closing date is almost upon us so this is the last chance to enter!”
