Camile Thai Food Chain Opens First Outlet In London

Irish-owned Thai food chain Camile, which currently operates 15 stores around Ireland, has opened its first outlet in London.

Founded by Brody Sweeney in 2010, the company has been voted Ireland's healthiest takeaway for the past three years running.

The London outlet represents the first time Camile has expanded outside of Ireland, with the rest of its stores being located between Limerick, Sligo, Belfast and Dublin, where it opened its first dine-in restaurant last month.

According to The Independent, the company also offers franchise options to other businesses, but it will only consider opening a restaurant in a town that has a population of 20,000 or over.

The capital required to establish a Camile franchise is between €240 and €400 thousand with a charge of 5% of net sales as a management service fee for franchisees as well as an additional 5% to go towards Camile's national advertising fund.
