Christmas Comes Early For Lily O'Brien's Chocolates

Lily O'Brien's, the Kildare-based chocolate company, has agreed a deal with Tesco which will see its products being sold in over 500 Tesco stores in the UK.

The company received tailored support and guidance in 2013 as part of a supplier development programme devised by Tesco Ireland and Bord Bia, the Irish food promotion board. Malachy O'Connor, fresh food commercial category director of Tesco Ireland said that the company is "one of the great success storires of the Tesco-Bord Bia Supplier Development Programme."

The company estimates that the listing in the UK Tesco stores will be worth over €1 million. It will include seasonal and non-seasonal product lines and will be in stores in time for Christmas.

Lily O'Brien's employs 120 people and exports to several countries around the world.
