Copenhagen's Irish Pubs Lower Pint Prices & Stock Up On Guinness For Ireland V Denmark

Irish pubs in the Danish capital of Copenhagen have increased their Guinness stocks threefold and lowered the price of pints in anticipation of the Denmark v Ireland World Cup qualifier this Saturday (November 11).

As reported by The Irish Mirror, Copenhagen vintners look set to earn a lot of extra cash this weekend as an estimated 8,000 football fans descend upon the city to bear witness to the match.

Pubs are planning to put up big screens to entice Irish fans who don't have tickets for the match into their venues and capitalise upon the the surge in clientele caused by the sporting event.

Owner of Kennedy's bar, Tony Kennedy, told The Irish Sunday Mirror, "We will have four big screens on the premises to watch the match and we’re expecting to be packed to the rafters. We have a lot of ex-pat regular customers as well as the huge influx of fans so it’s going to be a bit of a mad weekend. We’ve been squirrelling away kegs of Guinness for the past fortnight to be ready for the onslaught – probably three times our normal orders."

Meanwhile, other Irish establishments in the city such as The Irish Rover and The Shamrock have also announced a number of drinks promotions and asserted that they excess supplies of Guinness on their premises.
