Cork Accountants Offers Brexit Insights To Irish Food Sector

Buckley Kiely & Co, in association with Afex Solutions, is planning a conference to 'discuss required strategies for coping with and surviving the effects of Brexit for the Irish food sector,' according to a recent statement the Cork-based accountants and business advisors issued.

At the free event which will take place on Thursday 6 April, in the Clayton Silversprings Hotel, Cork, it will also 'include an outline of some of the measures already being taken by firms in the food sector.'

“We firmly believe the time is now to take action to ensure the survival of one of our most important industry sectors”, said John Flynn, Partner at Buckley Kiely & Co.

“Making up a sizable portion of our own client base, the food and agri sectors are critical to our own business and to many others. Taking the initiative is important to support businesses and protect jobs and much can be achieved especially if companies work together to meet the challenges ahead.” Flynn added.

Chaired by Michael Cronin, Agrifood Business Partners, the panel includes: Tara McCarthy, CEO Bord Bia; John Finn, MD Treasury Solutions; Prof. Thia Hennessey, Dept. of Food Business UCC Business School; Alan Jagoe, President CEJA European Council of Young Farmers; Mary Daly Murphy, CEO The Food Safety Company; and Trevor Charsley, Senior Markets Advisor Afex Solutions.
