Crosbie Given Go-Ahead for Vicar St Hotel

Harry Crosbie, the well-known property developer, has received permission to extend the planning process for a hotel at Vicar Street, according to The Sunday Business Post.

Crosbie originally applied for permission to develop an eight-storey hotel at a site adjacent to his popular venue in 2008. Residents opposed the plans based on the size of the building, the impact on traffic and increase in night time activity, however Crosbie was granted planning permission in 2009 with conditions.

Unfortunately the hotel was never built due to the recession. The planning permission then lapsed, but last month Crosbie was granted an extension on the permission until 20 May 2019.

Many of Crosbie's properties were taken over by NAMA but he still owns Vicar Street and it remains one of only a few of his properties not to have been taken over.
