Dalata Purchases A Further 33 Rooms At Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley

Dalata has announced it has acquired the long leasehold interest of an additional 33 suites at the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley.

The Irish Times reports that following last month's news that it had received clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission to acquire the freehold interest of certain elements of the Dublin 22 venue, and its subsequent acquisition of 158 rooms, the reception, leisure centre, bar and restaurant, Dalata has now reached an agreement to acquire the additional suites for €8.58 million.

Commenting on the deal, Dalata's deputy chief executive, Dermot Crowley, stated, "We are delighted to acquire these additional bedrooms so quickly after the purchase of the core hotel and are very excited about the potential of the hotel under the Clayton brand."

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of September and will put a total of 257 of the hotel's 352 bedrooms under Dalata's control.
