Diarmuid Gavin Launches New Dublin Garden Trail

Internationally renowned garden designer Diarmuid Gavin has launched a new Dublin Garden Trail which brings together 12 of the most engaging private gardens in the greater Dublin region. All of the gardens are open for visitors to enjoy.

Speaking at Knockrose garden, Kilternan, Gavin said, "What makes these gardens special is that visitors receive a personal tour by the dedicated owners who will reveal the garden’s stories and special gems.

"Each garden is creatively nurtured by their owners who are garden lovers and creators of these beautiful places."

Ring Around The City

The Trail stretches in a ring around the city from Howth, North Dublin, to Ashford in Co. Wicklow.

The gardens range from large estates such as Mount Usher and historic gardens such as Tyrrellstown through to contemporary style gardens and small urban gardens like Weston Park. Some are world famous such as those of Jimi Blake and June Blake, and others, like Ardán, have been newly created by their dedicated owners.

Many of the gardens offer refreshments or plants for sale. One includes the Dalkey Gardening School. Tinode near Blessington offers award winning accommodation. Ardán in Howth has bespoke garden sculpture on sale.

The 12 gardens on the Dublin Garden Trail are Ardán, Howth; Corle Lodge, Bray; Dower House, Ashford; Hunting Brook, Blessington; June Blake's Garden, Blessington; Knockrose, Kilternan; Lambs Cross Garden, Sandyford; Mornington Garden, Dalkey;  Mount Usher Garden, Ashford; Trudder Grange, Newtownmountkennedy; Tyrrelstown House, Blanchardstown; and Weston Park, Churchtown.
