Pizza chain Domino's has reported like-for-like sales in Ireland for the third quarter were up by 14.1 per cent.

Sales totalled €13.8 million in Q3 this year, compared to €12.2 million in the same period in 2014. The fast-food pizza chain owns 47 outlets in the Republic.

The group said it expects to exceed profit estimations for 2015 as yearly sales to date have hit €40.9 million, the Irish Times reports.

Speaking about the results, the group commented: “We are very encouraged by the third quarter results in Ireland where we are also seeing an increasing trend towards digital ordering and the benefits of the continued economic recovery.”

The group also recorded strong sales in the UK and plans to open a further 50 stores in the upcoming year.
