New Brewery, Distillery And Visitor Centre Facility To Open In Co. Kerry
A new €24 million brewery, distillery and visitor centre facility that is currently being developed just outside of Killarney in Co. Kerry reportedly looks set to open in the summer of 2021.
As reported by The Irish Examiner, the 62,000 square foot Killarney Brewing & Distilling facility will be located on the N72.
The new facility's parent company, KBD, owns both Killarney Brewing Company Ltd and Killarney Distilling Company.
KBD was founded in 2013 by Killarney natives Tim O'Donoghue and Paul Sheahan, and their Chicago-based business partner, Liam Healy, who has family connections in Co. Kerry.
KBD's brewing operation is currently located in a taproom and pizza facility in an old mineral factory on Co. Kerry's Muckross Road.
The company's new brewery, distillery and visitor centre facility will include a rooftop garden, a 250-seat gala event space and a chocolate shop, among other amenities.
According to the company, when complete, the new facility will be Ireland's "largest independently owned and co-located distillery, brewery and visitor experience", and it will employ over 85 people when it's fully operational.
KBD is hoping to attract over 100,000 visitors annually to the new facility.
