Spirit Sales Rose 0.7% In The Republic Of Ireland Last Year

New data from IWSR Drinks Market Analysis has indicated that sales of spirits in the Republic of Ireland increased marginally by 0.7% to 2.42 million nine-litre cases in 2019.

This followed a 6.5% increase the previous year.

Top-Selling Brand, Tequila, Gin, Whiskey And Vodka

According to IWSR's data, Smirnoff was the top-selling spirit brand in the Republic last year, with its sales rising 1.2% to 485,000 cases, and tequila was the fastest growing spirit category year-on-year, with tequila volumes increasing 6.2%.

Meanwhile, gin volumes rose 4.6% to 338,500 cases; sales of whiskey increased 1.5% to 590,500 cases; and vodka sales rose 0.6% to 791,000 cases.
