Dublin Airport Celebrates Busiest June On Record

Dublin Airport passenger numbers rose by 6% in June of 2017 compared to the same period last year, making it the best June in the history of the airport.

The news follows last month's report of record numbers for May at the airport and over 13.8 million people have passed through its doors during the first six months of 2017, representing an additional 804,000 passengers compared to the same period last year.

According to The Irish Times, approximately 2.9 million people passed though the airport in June, with almost 1.6 million passengers flying to and from European destinations, representing an increase of 7%, while UK traveller numbers remained static with about 844,000 people flying to and from Britain.

Traveller numbers between Dublin and the US rose 18% to 385,000, while other international traffic, including flights to the Middle East and Africa, increased 6% to 71,500 passengers. Domestic passenger numbers, on the other hand, decreased by 8% to 8,000.
