Dublin Airport Trials 'Honest Eats Co. Fridges'

Dublin Airport is set to try out a new, honesty-based food and drinks take-away fridge, which will require customers to scan food products and pay for them at a cashless, self-service checkout.

The Irish Independent reports that the products contained in the so-called Honest Eats Co. fridge in Terminal 1 can only be paid for by card and mobile payment apps, with the trial planned to last for a period of four weeks.

The initial fridge will be located at Marqette's Café and will offer an array of 73 different food and drinks products. However, if the trial proves to be a success, the airport plans to put further fridges in both terminals.

Commenting on the new initiative, Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said, "We are constantly seeking to improve the passenger experience at Dublin Airport and are delighted to be working with Marqette to trial the new Honest Eats concept."
