Cliff House Acquires Village at Lyons For €6m

The owner of the five-star Cliff House Hotel in Waterford, and the Cliff Townhouse on St Stephen's Green in Dublin, has purchased the 16-acre Village at Lyons in Celbridge, Co Kildare.

Irish businessman Barry O'Callaghan is reported to have paid about €6 million for the popular wedding venue and cookery school, which is to be rebranded as the Cliff at Lyons, according to The Irish Times, which adds that The Village comprises four shops and three apartments, a cafe, separate cookery school, the main function room, with a capacity for 180 guests, the feature Lyons bar and the La Serre restaurant and oyster bar, which can hold 100 people.

It's been confirmed that all wedding and events already scheduled will go ahead as planned.

Ryanair founder Tony Ryan purchased and restored the property at the Lyons Demesne in 1996, which has been run by his son Declan Ryan since mid-2014, and was placed on the market last year.

The current general manager of the property, Philip Rock, will continue to manage operations at the business.
