Boost in Profits for Landmark Dublin Pub

Doheny & Nesbitt's, one of Ireland's most well-known pubs, has seen its profits rise by €178,749 in what was a successful year for the Baggot Street establishment.

Speaking to the Irish Times, pub group general manager Niall Courtney, said that it is "delighted" by the performance in the 12 months up to the end of January 2015.

Business was boosted thanks to increased footfall from corporate and construction workers based in the Dublin 2 area. The larger food offering and traditional music also help raise revenue, said Courtney. The pub is also expected to benefit from the Web Summit due to its proximity to the event.

Doheny & Nesbitt's became the first pub to be sold for over £1 million when the Mangan brothers purchased the property in 1987. It recently took away the award for 'Best Overall Pub' at the National Hospitality Awards.
