Fáilte Ireland Chief Executive, Shaun Quinn (pictured, left) has announced he will move on from his current position when his term of office expires later this year.
Quinn, who has been in the role since the establishment of Fáilte ireland in 2003, has overseen a number of successful initiatives in his time at the agency, including the Wild Atlantic Way and The Gathering in 2013.
In a statement released by Fáilte Ireland, Quinn was credited for "helping to reverse the fortunes of tourism communities throughout many parts of Ireland."
The statement added: "[Quinn] has provided sound strategic leadership throughout the sector and is widely recognised as a champion of change both within Fáilte Ireland and across the tourism industry."
Commenting on Mr Quinns’s decision, Fáilte Ireland Chairman, Michael Cawley (pictured, right), said: “Shaun has led Fáilte Ireland over the last 13 years to a position where it has been instrumental in both shepherding the tourism sector through a very severe recession and now helping the industry to strategically position itself appropriately to achieve sustained growth into the longer term.
"Having provided the sector with much needed vision and strategic direction for almost a decade and a half, he leaves an enduring legacy and many of the branding initiatives created during his time will resonate for many years to come."
Fáilte Ireland added that it will commence the search for Quinn's replacement immediately.
