Louis Fitzgerald Pub Group Sees Profits Double

The Louis Fitzgerald pub group, one of the largest and most well-known pub groups in Ireland, saw its pre-tax profits more than double in the last year.

Accounts released in the last week by the group, which operates popular pubs such as Stag's Head (pictured), Kehoes and the Big Tree in Dublin, show that profits were up to €10.9 million up to June last year, a 174 per cent increase on the previous year. Revenues increased by four per cent to €56.6 million.

According to the Irish Independent, a €5.2 million profit on the sale of an "unidentified investment" boosted pre-tax profits. The group was also able to repay a €7.5 million loan to a director.

Other well-known pubs owned by the Louis Fitzgerald pub group are the Quays pub sin Dublin and Galway, the Gin Palace and Grand Central inDublin's city centre and The Roost in Maynooth. It also operates a number of hotels including the Arlington Hotel and the Louis Fitzgerald hotel.
