Paddy McKillen Jnr Gets Green Light for Ranelagh Hotel

Irish businessman Paddy McKillen Jnr's plans to build a new boutique hotel in Ranelagh village in Dublin 6 will go ahead after receiving planning permission.

According to the Irish Times, two companies associated with McKillen have been given the green light to demolish the building currently standing to build a hotel and two restaurants in its place.

McKillen plans to build a 41-bedroom boutique hotel with a restaurant on the rooftop terrace. The building will also house a 50-seater cinema room and conference facilities.

McKillen, part-owner of one of the fastest-growing hospitality groups in Ireland, Press Up, has seen major success with its last venture the Dean Hotel (pictured). It's said that the new Ranelagh hotel will largely follow the Dean's layout and design.

Dublin City Council granted permission to McKillen's companies Original Point and Oakmount despite number of protests against it, including from Labour TD Ruairí Quinn.
