'Tourism Hero' Reveals Restaurant Plans for Titanic Sector

Award-winning chef Neil McKenna is to open two new restaurants in Belfast's rejuvenated Titanic Quarter, bringing 55 jobs to the area.

The Belfast native, who last year won the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards 'Tourism Hero' for his "involvement and impact on local tourism", said the new restaurants are a reflection of the blossoming tourism sector in the North.

The chef, who owns the James Street South group, will open the Cast and Crew restaurant, a 90-seater located opposite the Titanic Belfast site, according to the Irish Times. He also intends to open a second restaurant on Donegall Quay, a short distance from the attraction.

The development is yet another boon for the hospitality industry in the area, which will see three new hotels built in the area.

The Titanic Belfast also recently picked up the Best Visitor Attraction gong at the inaugural European Group Travel Awards.
