Findlater WSG Given Penfolds, Wolf Blass & Berninger

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has announced the appointment of Findlater Wine & Spirit Group as distributors of the Penfolds, Wolf Blass and Beringer portfolio in the Republic of Ireland. The agreement sees the premium ‘new world’ wines added to the Findlater stable, which already distributes TWE brands Lindeman’s and Matua Valley. The announcement means Edward Dillon and Co will cease their distribution of Wolf Blass and Penfolds in the Republic of Ireland. Treasury Wine Estates Ireland business controller Jon Worsley says: “We would like to thank everyone at Edward Dillons for their hard work on our brands over the years and we are really looking forward to working closely with Findlaters to continue the success of our portfolio in the Irish Market.” CEO of Edward Dillon, Andy O’Hara, said: “We are very proud of our involvement in making Wolf Blass the iconic Australian brand that it is today, this is the result of 30 years of dedication to the brand. We are also honoured to have been associated with the development of Penfolds over the last number of years. We wish the new distributors every success with the brands’ continued development in the Irish Market.” The move reflects Edward Dillon’s aim to concentrate its future development focus on its core premium spirit, champagne and wine brands. In the Republic of Ireland, Wolf Blass is a top 10 wine brand and the number two Australian wine brand with sales of ?30 million a year. Tom Gray, managing director of Findlater welcomes the new additions: “We are absolutely delighted with the vote of confidence that Treasury Wine Estates have placed in us. We are proud of the work we have done on Lindemans and Matua Valley and look forward to strengthening Treasury’s other great brands in Ireland as we move closer to our mission of becoming the supplier of choice.”
