Foley's Pub On Merrion Row Sold

Foley's Bar & Restaurant on Merrion Row, Dublin 2, has been sold for what is believed to be the largest sum paid for an Irish pub in over four years.

The exact fee was not disclosed by the selling agents CBRE, but it did come with a guide price of €2.75 million. CBRE’s John Hughes confirmed that Foley’s was purchased by a business consortium headed by Monaghan businessman Ciaran Marron.

At the end of May the Irish Times reported that Foley's was close to being bought by an unnamed party for €3.45 million. The pub has had its fair share of celebrities walk through its doors over the past few years; including Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.

Foley’s is a substantial four-story, over-basement licensed premises and includes a ground floor lounge bar with two entrances from Merrion Row. Overhead is a self-contained lounge, a private dining room and Queen Maebhs Restaurant together with fully-equipped catering kitchen and offices. The premises also have a self-contained three bedroom residence which has a separate hall door from Merrion Street.
