French Restaurant Swamped After Mistakenly Given A Michelin Star

After the Michelin Guide recently released its 2017 edition for France, Le Bouche à Oreille bar and restaurant in Bourges was mistakenly awarded a Michelin star after being mistook for another restaurant of the same name in Boutervilliers.

The mistake occurred on the Michelin Guide's website, lasting for nearly a week before it was fixed, however it didn't appear in the book or on the mobile app, reports The Guardian.

Le Bouche à Oreille in Boutervilliers near Paris, serves a €48 three-course menu that includes champagne and an amuse bouche, comprising of dishes such as lobster flan with a fricassee of prawns; veal brain with winter vegetables; pear and chocolate with tiramisu flavours, while the Bourges restaurant offers simpler dishes such as beef bourguignon for €12.50.

"We’re swamped. I don’t have much space and there are only four waiters," said Veronique Jacquet of Le Bouche à Oreille in Bourges. Chef Aymeric Dreux of the Boutervilliers restaurant, who first earned a star in 2015, added: "It was a little boo-boo that caused no harm and was corrected. I called [Jacquet] in Bourges. The whole thing made us laugh."
