French Travel Planners Enjoy ‘La Vie VIP’ In Ireland

A group of French travel planners – who design unique, luxury travel itineraries for their high net-worth international clients – is visiting Ireland this week with The Leading Hotels of the World, a consortium of luxury hotels and resorts. They are here as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Aer Lingus.

The travel planners, all based in Paris, are in Ireland to experience some of the many luxury experiences on offer here. The objective of their visit is to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their existing programmes or to include Ireland for the first time in 2018.

The group has been undertaking an action-packed fact-finding visit – including horse riding, cycling and a falconry demonstration, as well as an overnight stay at Ashford Castle. They enjoyed a food tour of Galway city and lunch in The Fatted Calf in Athlone. They also visited Trinity College, St Patrick's Cathedral and the Chester Beatty Library.

“Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these luxury travel planners and The Leading Hotels of the World to visit Ireland. We believe it is extremely important for travel decision-makers such as these to experience for themselves the high standard of our luxury tourism offering,” said Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Southern Europe. “Our aim is to enthuse them about the destination, so that when they return home to France it will be easier for them to advise their clients when planning and booking luxury holidays in Ireland.”
