Freshly Chopped Opens Its First Outlet In Britain

Freshly Chopped has opened a new outlet at Piccadilly Plaza in Manchester, which is the company's first branch in mainland Britain.

"The Next Step"

Freshly Chopped co-founder and managing director Brian Lee commented, "This new store in Manchester marks the next step in our journey to making Freshly Chopped the world’s best healthy fast food choice. It has taken us longer than we originally anticipated for the dream of a store in the UK to become a reality mainly because of the uncertainty created by Brexit. We’re confident, though, that we have found the right location and, crucially, that we have the right infrastructure in place to deliver the foundation we need to grow the brand in the UK. Across all 60 of our stores, our focus this year will be on improving upon the customer experience with additions to our menu including more hot food choices.

Assessing Brexit Impact

Lee added, "We see this first store as a pilot to learn more about the market and assess how Brexit impacts on the sector before committing to opening more stores in England. We will be very careful and deliberate with our rollout strategy, and we have created a new supply chain that we think is Brexit proofed to deliver the same experience that our customers in Ireland have come to love. There is a vast demand in the British market for healthy fast food and we have been inundated with requests to open in Britain over the last six years, both from Irish people living abroad and British people who have seen what we have been offering in Ireland."
