They were welcomed to the Gaol by Phelim Devlin, managing director, and received a tour of the new experience.
Tourism NI's website quotes Devlin as saying, "I am delighted to have Lesley Ann and Pauline here today to share this occasion with us.
"The past eighteen months have been challenging but with the funding, support, and advice from Tourism NI, we were able to create this new experience which has given Crumlin Road Gaol a different dimension and brought the Victorian Prison into the 21st century.”
Devlin added, "I would encourage everyone to visit the Crumlin Road Gaol for a tour even if you have attended before. It is both captivating and educational with something for all ages to enjoy. We have new stories and new characters to meet which will keep you entertained for hours."
O'Donnell commented, "We are delighted to be a part of this new experience at Crumlin Road Gaol which is safe to reopen under the We're Good to Go charter mark. This will provide reassurance to visitors and build on consumer confidence which will be a critical part of driving demand. As we continue to guide the tourism industry through recovery, I have no doubt that Crumlin Road Gaol will continue to play an important role in attracting visitors to Belfast."
