Dublin And Cork Airports Operator DAA Accelerates Recruitment And Assigns All Managers To Security Shifts Due To Delays At Dublin Airport
Dublin and Cork airports operator DAA has accelerated recruitment and all managers will now work security shifts after staff shortages at Dublin Airport caused major passenger delays.
Delays At Security Screening Areas
The news follows last week's news that a number of people reported queuing for up two hours at security screening areas in Dublin Airport on the morning of Sunday August 29, and some passengers missed their flights as a result, and that a DAA spokesperson said in a statement that Dublin Airport "sincerely apologises for the obvious inconvenience this has caused".
Special Task Force And Working On Forecasting Capabilities
As reported by The Irish Independent, DAA has launched a special task force and is working on its forecasting capabilities after passengers experienced the aforementioned delays.
Daily Passenger Number
The numbers of people travelling through Dublin Airport daily has reportedly risen to more than 50,000, which is reportedly half of normal levels for this time of year.
