Healthy Eating Restaurant Chopped Continues Expansion

Healthy eating chain, Chopped, continues its expansion with new openings in Tallaght, Westmoreland Street and Blanchardstown in Dublin.

The Tallaght restaurant is located in The Square shopping centre, will seat over 30 people and will create 20 jobs, reports DublinLive.ie.

Speaking at the opening the new Tallaght restaurant, Brian Lee, co-founder and managing director of Chopped said: "We’re delighted to be opening our newest Chopped in Tallaght. This is the first time we have opened a store in a shopping centre and we are delighted to be in one of the busiest and most famous shopping centres in the country," adding "A lot of people told us we were mad to be opening in Tallaght, that [it] wasn’t the right market for us".

Chopped has enjoyed much success over the past year, opening its Rathmines store in June, winning the accolade of Ireland's "Best Emerging Franchise" and Lee being named as a finalist in the "Best Emerging Entrepreneurs" at the 2016 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The chain has plans to continue its expansion and hopes to create 320 new jobs with further restaurant openings by the end of 2016.

Meanwhile in Blackrock, a new gluten-free bakery called 'Gluttony' has recently opened its doors. It will be offering healthier versions of cakes, tarts, sandwiches and brownies to go along with coffee and tea options.
