Heineken Ireland And Comans Beverages Notify CCPC Of Merger

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) of Ireland has been notified concerning the proposed merger of Heineken Ireland and Comans Beverages Limited.

Comans Beverages is an Irish drinks wholesaler based in Dublin. It was first established in 1959, and now distributes a wide range of beer, wines, spirits and soft drinks, including Dutch Gold and Druids Celtic Cider.

Heineken already has a strong relationship with Comans, as some of the latter's subsidiaries already supply Heineken and Murphys draft beer to pubs around Ireland.

The notification was received on February 23rd, and the Phase 1 deadline for third parties who want to make submissions regarding the merger’s competition aspects is Wednesday March 9th.
