Hospitality Ireland Editor Named "Business Media Editor Of The Year"

This year’s annual Irish Magazine Awards took place on the evening of Thursday November 29 at Lansdowne FC in Dublin 4, with Hospitality Ireland editor Emily Hourican being honoured with the award for “Editor of the Year – Business Media” at the event.

Running for the past 18 years, the Irish Magazine Awards celebrate the talent represented in Irish magazine media at an annual ceremony that is attended by leading magazine publishers from throughout Ireland and serves as a showcase for the work of the country’s various magazine brands.

"A Hotly Contested Category"

Speaking about Emily’s win, the IMA judges said, "In a hotly contested category, this editor demonstrated total involvement across all formats and the ability to present content to its audience on whatever platform they chose. As well as providing a visually attractive and compelling print product, this editor showed a strong engagement with the magazine’s audience on supporting platforms, ensuring regular touchpoints via the newsletter, app, website and Twitter account."

Meanwhile, Emily stated, "This is very much a team win, and I would like to particularly mention Hospitality Ireland publisher Mark Kelly, online editor Dave Simpson and designer Fiachra McCarthy. Their contributions are instrumental to the magazine's success."
