Hotel Lough Eske Castle Celebrates 10 Years Of Success

Co. Donegal's Lough Eske Castle Hotel and Spa celebrated its 10th anniversary on December 14, 2017. Despite opening at the beginning of the financial downturn, the venue has seen revenues double, currently operating at €9 million. Occupancy has also continued to rise and has grown by 38% since 2007, while the average room rate has risen by 43% and international guest stays have grown by 15%.

Lough Eske Castle managing director Seán Carney commented, “In our tenth year of trading...we are delighted to have such a strong year, with over 6% increase in revenue year on year. We very much value our local community and feel we have a large responsibility to the county. Since opening the hotel, we have sponsored over €70,000 in local charities and invested over €7 million into the local Donegal economy. Our team are also incredibly important to us and we are gratified 2017 has been an exceptional year for the castle, truly reflecting our teams efforts. We have had the great honour of receiving multiple awards this year, including three Irish Hospitality Awards, being named number three in the top hotels in Ireland by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Award and the Quality Employer Award under the Medium Hotels, Irish Hotels Federation 2017. Thank you to all of our guests and industry colleagues for the support over the last 10 years.”

To celebrate 10 years of success, Lough Eske Castle is offering guests a midweek nightly rate of €175 - the same nightly rate with which the hotel opened in 2007 - or €325 for two nights until March of 2018. These prices are subject to availability and include daily full Irish breakfast in Cedars Restaurant; €40 food credit for the Table d’Hote menu in Cedars Restaurant on one evening; 30% off any pre-booked spa treatment over 60 minutes at Spa Solís; and use of indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.
