Hotel Rates Rise In Dublin Ahead Of All-Ireland Semi-Final Replay

GAA fans heading for Croke Park from outside of Dublin for the All-Ireland semi-final replay between Mayo and Kerry on Saturday (26 August) are facing high accommodation costs.

The average price for a two night stay in a double or twin room at three- and four-star hotels in the capital being between €300 and €400 this weekend, according to the Irish Independent.

The Irish Hotels Federation is anticipating that it will be one of the busiest weekends of the year for hotels in Dublin due to a number of popular events taking place, including two GAA matches, the Dalkey Lobster Festival and the Dublin City Triathlon.

A spokesperson for the IHF, commented: "Typically, over 80% of room bookings are made well in advance, especially for the summer season, and represent excellent value. It is generally the final 10% of room stock that would experience noticeable movement towards the registered public rates, which is the rate displayed at hotel receptions."
