1,955 New Hotels Reportedly Currently Planned To Open Across Europe

1,955 New Hotels Reportedly Currently Planned To Open Across Europe

According to the Tophotelprojects construction database, 1,955 hotels schemes are currently in the pipeline across Europe.

As reported by tophotel.news, the 1,955 hotel schemes that are reportedly in the pipeline across Europe have a total of 327,942 rooms.

Tophotel.news stated that it has found that 639 openings are planned for 2021, and these openings will result in 96,482 new rooms being available across Europe.

Tophotel.news noted that the above high number of openings planned for 2021 may be a result of the fact that many schemes that were originally planned to open last year were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are only now nearing completion as a result.

Tophotel.news stated that a further 425 hotels with 71,779 rooms are planned to open next year, and a further 254 hotels with 45,243 keys planned to open in 2023, and 637 projects with 114,438 rooms are planned to open in 2024 and beyond.

According to tophotel.news, 1,396 of the 1,955 hotel schemes that are reportedly in the pipeline across Europe will be four-star venues, and the remaining 559 are targeting the five-star category.

Country-By-Country

Tophotel.news stated that, on a country-by-country basis, the UK takes the lead, with 488 hotels and 70,531 rooms in the pipeline, almost a quarter of which will be In London, which is reportedly due to get 114 extra hotels with 20,017 keys, reportedly making it Europe's top urban hotel market ahead of Dublin, where tophotels.news stated that 60 hotels and 9,313 rooms are currently in the pipeline.

Tophotel.news stated that Germany takes second place among national growth markets, with 369 ongoing schemes and 58,036 rooms. Germany is reportedly followed by France, where 127 properties with 20,370 keys are in the pipeline. 36 of the 127 properties reportedly in the pipeline in France reportedly will be in Paris, reportedly adding 7,290 rooms to the city's room count and making it the region’s third most dynamic urban hotel market.

Additionally, tophotel.news stated that Italy will get 98 new properties with 13,874 rooms, and 90 projects with 17,092 rooms are in the pipeline in Spain.

Brands And Other Planned Properties

Tophotel.news stated that Hampton by Hilton leads its list of Europe's most active brands, as it is currently planning to open 49 hotels with 7,963 rooms.

Tophotel.news noted that this puts Hampton by Hilton well ahead of Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Garden Inn, the former of which is reportedly planning to open 24 new properties with 4,569 rooms, and the latter of which is reportedly intending to open 24 new schemes with 3,814 keys.

Tophotel.news stated that Hard Rock Hotel Letná Prague will bring the Hard Rock brand's signature energy to Prague in 2024, and will include 523 rooms.

According to tophotel.news, a 350-room hotel will form part of a new urban development in London's Strand East neighbourhood that is due to be completed in early 2023, and Lapland Hotels Tampere Arena is planned to open towards the end of 2021 next to Finland's largest multipurpose arena. Laplands Hotel Tampere Arena will reportedly include 273 rooms.
