Owner Of Irish Takeaway Company Receives €4m Investment

Online food-ordering service Delivery Hero has invested €4 million in Hungry Group, an online food-ordering platform that owns takeaway delivery company Marvin.ie.

Hungry Group, which was founded in Denmark in 2012 by former Just Eat managing director Morten Larsen, has Just Eat founder Jesper Buch as an investor, reports irishtechnews.ie. The company, which also operates in Denmark and the Netherlands, processes orders worth more than €35 million annually. Delivery Hero, on the other hand, has received investment of more than $1 billion and has processed 127 million orders to date.

CEO and founder Morten Larsen commented: "I am proud to announce that Delivery Hero has invested DKK 30 million in Hungry Group. The investment gives us the power to invest more in Netherlands and Ireland to become bigger and stronger. Also, our mobile platform will be one of the areas where investments will continue to take place. It took exactly four years, going from start-up to be active in three countries with 60 employees and selling food for more than €34 million per year."
